How to make a calendar event QR code in 3 simple steps.

No account and no watermark. Free to download as PNG or SVG.

1

Enter the event

Choose Calendar event, then add a title, the start date and time, an optional end, a location and notes. Tick All-day event if there is no time.

2

Customize

Match your invitation: pick colors and a style, and add a logo or monogram.

3

Download and test

Save the code and scan it with your phone. It should offer to add the event to your calendar.

How a calendar event QR code works

An event QR code contains the event in the standard iCalendar format, the same format used by .ics files. When a phone scans it, the camera or scanner app recognises an event and offers to add it to the calendar with the title, time and place filled in. Guests then get the date saved without typing anything.

iPhones and many Android scanner apps handle this well. Some Android cameras only show the raw event text instead of offering to add it, so test your code on a few phones before you print invitations. The times in the code are floating times, which means they appear at the same clock time wherever the guest is, which suits local events. The code never expires.

Where event QR codes are useful

Wedding and party invitations

Add a save-the-date code so guests put the day straight into their calendar.

Posters and flyers

Let people save a concert, class or market date directly from the poster.

Webinars and meetings

Place a code on a slide or an email footer so attendees add the session in one scan.

School and club schedules

Give parents a code for the open day, a match or a rehearsal.

Plain date codes

Use Just the date to encode a date such as 2026-12-31 as text for puzzles, labels or expiry marks.

Common questions answered.

Calendar event builds a full calendar entry that a phone can add. Just the date encodes the date as plain text, such as 2026-12-31 or 2026-12-31 18:30, which the phone only displays.
iPhones do, and so do many Android scanner apps. Some Android cameras only show the event text. Test on a few phones before you print.
Yes. Tick All-day event and the time fields are hidden. A multi-day event can use an end date.
The code stores the time without a time zone, so it shows up at the same clock time for everyone. That suits local events. For events across time zones, say the zone in the title.
No. A static code cannot be edited. Make a new code if the date or place changes.
No. The code is made in your browser and nothing is uploaded or stored.
