Turn Your Wi-Fi Password Into a QR Code

Guests scan the code with their phone camera and join your network with no typing. Your network name and password stay in your browser. Download a PNG or SVG and print it for the fridge, the guest room or the counter.

Create Your Wi-Fi QR Code, Free

Enter your network details exactly as they appear on your router. The code is made right in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Your details stay in this browser and are never uploaded. Anyone who scans the printed code can read the password, so use it for a guest network where you can.

How to turn a Wi-Fi password into a QR code in 3 simple steps.

No account and no watermark. Free to download as PNG or SVG.

1

Enter your network details

Type the network name (SSID) exactly as it appears, add the password, and pick the security type. Most home routers use WPA / WPA2 / WPA3.

2

Style and size

Keep dark on light for the best scanning. Add a logo if you like, and pick a download size that fits your print.

3

Print and test

Download a PNG or SVG, print it, and scan it with a phone that is not on your Wi-Fi to check it connects.

How a Wi-Fi QR code works

A Wi-Fi QR code holds your network name, password and security type in a standard text format that phones understand. When someone scans it with the camera app, the phone offers to join that network, so nobody has to read out or type a long password. iPhones running iOS 11 or later and Android 10 or later can do this straight from the camera. Older Android phones need a free scanner app.

Your details are turned into a code inside your browser and never sent to a server. Keep in mind that anyone who can scan the printed code can read the password from it, in the same way as a password written on a note. For visitors, a separate guest network is the safest choice, and you can change the guest password and print a new code whenever you like.

Where Wi-Fi QR codes are handy

At home

Stick a small code on the fridge or in the guest room so visitors can connect themselves.

Cafes, shops and restaurants

Print table cards or a counter sign so customers join without asking staff for the password.

Holiday rentals

Put the code in the welcome folder. When the password changes, print a new card.

Offices and meeting rooms

Share the visitor network with clients and contractors without sending the main office password around.

Events and co-working spaces

Put a code on the registration desk or the wall so attendees get online in seconds.

Common questions answered.

Choose WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 for almost every modern router. WEP is an old, weak standard, and No password is for open networks. You can find the type in your router settings or on its label.
Yes. The code is generated in your browser and the details are never uploaded or stored. Nothing about your network leaves your device.
Yes. iPhones with iOS 11 or later and Android phones with Android 10 or later offer to join the network when the camera sees the code. On older Android phones, use a free QR scanner app.
The password is written into the code, so a new password needs a new code. Make a new one here and reprint it. Static codes like this one never expire, but they cannot be edited.
Tick Hidden network. The phone then knows to look for a network that does not broadcast its name.
Check that the network name is typed exactly as it appears, including capital letters and spaces, and that the security type matches your router. A wrong character in the password is the other common cause.
