How email QR codes work

An email QR code uses the standard mailto format. The phone reads the address, subject and message from the code and opens its default mail app with a new message ready to send. The sender only has to press send.

Pre-filled subjects are useful. If you add a subject such as Quote request or Event RSVP, the messages you receive are already labelled, which makes sorting them much easier. Everything is stored in the code itself, so it works without any website and never expires.

Ideas for email QR codes

Put a code on a product or invoice that opens a message pre-addressed to your support team.

Event RSVPs

Add a code to an invitation with the subject RSVP, so replies are easy to spot.

Feedback and complaints

Let customers send feedback from a table card or receipt in two taps.

Job applications

Put a code on a job ad or shop window that opens an application email.
