How a YouTube QR code works

A YouTube QR code is simply a QR code that contains a YouTube link. Scanning opens the video, playlist or channel in the YouTube app if it is installed, or in the mobile browser. It is a useful bridge between print and video: a poster, a product box or a slide can lead straight to the video.

For channels, add ?sub_confirmation=1 to the end of your channel link and the viewer is asked to subscribe when the page opens. The code is static, so it never expires, but if the video is deleted or made private, the code will lead to an error page. Use a playlist link if you want to be able to swap the videos later.
